After the Emancipation Proclamation
some slaves were free but those who was not free had to wait for two years because there master did not tell them so the slaves continue to work and work and work. After the Emancipation Proclamation I later moved to liverpool in england where i published my autobiography fifty years of slavery in 1863, I began to writing more and more and writing was my passion and i made a career out of it.
During the time of the Emancipation
On a hot sweaty day, slaves where working all day in a hot with other slaves working without getting any breaks or getting any water. We the slaves have been working day and night non-stop because our mater told us to. We have been taking from our own homes and have been brought to america or other parts of the world just to work for free. the master always whip us that leaves big marks on our bodies if we don't do what he says. once i seen a slave, a strong strong slave that had marks on his body from head to toe. He was about 6'2, with brown eyes and black hair, he was talking about escaping to be free, thats what i heard him say when he was talking to the other slaves. The slave said that he was going to leave to night to try to have a chance in the dark. When the morning hit, i went outside and i seen that slave that had escaped and my master. master was whiping him to death and when he was finish he hang the poor slave. This was a day that got me scared and i promised my that one day i will be free for his sake. That was the day i did everything i could to find a way to escape to freedom and not get beat about it.
the day had finally came when i was free and the first thing i was thinking about in my mind where is family. At first i look for them but i did not see them so i went about my own way and started to look for jobs so i can have money to get me a home an nice home and maybe start a family. i went to england to be a writer because i like to write so i look for jobs and more jobs to become a writer.

Before the Emancipation Proclamation
I was born a slave in Fauquier County, Virginia. When he was fourteen years old, my master moved to Mason County, Kentucky. Befriended by his master's wife, I became a well-treated house slave. However, after attending a prayer-meetingI was so badly flogged he decided to run away. I was free for nine weeks but I was captured and received 107 strokes of the whip.
the experiences that I experience was that whenIwas a child or younger I lived in huts that were built of rough logs, males and females were eating, sleeping and living promiscuously in the same room. when I was in my slave master's home my mother was baking short cake, when my cousin came in, my mother gave us a peice of the cake and when i was done my cousin was teasing me and when i took it and ate it, my cousin was droped to the floor and started to cry and thats when i received the first "striking impression," upon my back, that i had done wrong.
Another experience is when One morning, when i was peeping over my mistress' sister that was engaged in writing a letter, i thought to myself, what pretty marks she was making, and wondered if I could not do the same; just as this idea came into my head she arose from the table and went to breakfast, as soon as she was out of sight, i seated myself, took the pen and finished with strange characters on the line that she had left half finished, and kept on to the line below, leaving off on that just where she had stopped on the line above.when i was viewing my work and thinking that it looked better and more distinct than the other, a lady, who, on seeing what i had done and began to beat me most unmercifully, and she continued laying on the lash with all her strength until his back was severely cut.
this explains how bad i was all beat up and how i did not like how he was treated during this time.
